Bad roads make people’s life miserable in Vikas Nagar

NEW DELHI: It’s been almost six months, the stretch between Krishna Sweets and Park main gate at Vikas Nagar of southwest Delhi remains a nightmare for commuters.

Local councilor Ashok Saini too has office on this road.

Picture for representational purpose only.

Overflowing drains, dug up roads and dust is new normal here. Despite several requests by the locals to get these issues solved, nothing has happened so far.

Local MLA Mahendra Yadav and councilor Ashok Saini are from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Yet another example of pathetic civic amenities is the road stretch between Murli Samosa shop to Hastsal. The construction work has been going on here for the last six months almost. To repair a stretch of 300 mtrs, the authorities have already taken more than six months. For your information, we would like to highlight the AAP councilor Ashok Saini also live here.

A shopkeeper in the market on this road said the broken road has hit their business badly. People don’t want to stop here due to dust in the air. We request authorities to finish the construction work as soon as possible.

Jagdish Tyagi, a local resident here told DainikNavodaya that his family avoids inviting any guests as broken roads and pathetic situation of civic amenities is a big embarrassment for us.

Same is the condition of the road on Najafgarh drain (between Holy Convent School to Hastasal). Potholes and bad patches make it difficult to commute. While this road is main connecting link to Uttam Nagar and Vikas Puri, it’s conditions is also abysmal.

Due to lack of proper lighting and policing , the stretch is a safe haven from criminals.
